Ole’ to You and Your Creative Genius

We all need a coach from time to time.  My friend and life coach, Michelle Cochran first shared this video of  author, Elizabeth Gilbert talking about  of nurturing creativity.   I recently viewed the video again and thought I MUST share this with my readers.  Elizabeth Gilbert is talking about all creativity in its many forms.  She also shares the scary side of other’s expectations and fear of failure (I wrote about this topic in a post two weeks ago if you wish to read about my experience the courage to share your dream).

Elizabeth Gilbert muses on the impossible things we expect from artists and geniuses — and shares the radical idea that, instead of the rare person “being” a genius, all of us “have” a genius. It’s a funny, personal and surprisingly moving talk.

The author of Eat, Pray, Love, Elizabeth Gilbert has thought long and hard about some large topics.

What helps creative people stay creative?  The answer is simple…surround yourself with creative people.  Not creative people who whine about losing their muse, the unfairness that they have not been “discovered”, or people who will not commit time to their creativity.   If you need someone to help you map out your creative life, keep you accountable or discover your life’s passion…you need a coach. My coach is Michelle Cochran who believes that all of us have something BIG to share with this world. Do you have someone who is your cheerleader? Even when others don’t understand your need to be creative?  Someone who encourages you when you get discouraged (and you will)? Someone who has walked that trail and help you avoid the pitfalls?  You might wish to invest in yourself and schedule some time with a coach.  It is money well spent.

This video of Elizabeth Gilbert who wrote, Eat, Pray, Love and my coaching with Michelle help me to celebrate and nurture my creative spirit.  How do you celebrate your creative soul?  Watch the video, check out Michelle’s website and post your thoughts and comments.  Lets share this creative life journey together.

I have used a life coach when I was stuck. I checked out the websites and have bookmarked them. Thanks.

    • Yes – I am now working with an Art Business Coach as well. We never have all the answers and an outside objective view is always helpful. Be sure to keep abreast of More Life with Michelle – she is amazing.
